Recovery Cards Project

We discovered the concept of Opioid recovery cards was almost non-existent. So, we hired illustrators, artists, and local artisan card companies to help us create an entire line of cards to get the dialog going about a very tough subject. Twenty cards were created and offered for free via a website and recovery-themed events.

Challenge

Opioid use disorder is a silent epidemic in the United States, one that’s shrouded in stigma that prevents people from seeking help or talking about it. We needed to find a way to offer support and take on stigma at the same time.

Solution

We wanted to create a physical way for people battling opioid abuse to show support, and we discovered that the concept of opioid recovery cards was pretty much non-existent. So, we hired illustrators, artists and local-artisan card companies to help us create an entire line of cards designed to get people talking, or should we say writing?

Results

The project was an immediate success. Cards literally flew off the shelves and the website. At launch, 6,600 cards were ordered online in the first 48 hours. That number eclipsed 10,000 cards in the first week alone. By week’s end, we were already in the throes of a second round of printing. And we’ve even added one for Mother’s Day because hey, we love our moms.
