The web developer and designer is responsible for planning, developing and designing web solutions and web applications for the agency and our clients as well as supporting and maintaining existing websites and digital products. This person should expect to be an integral part of the creative process at the agency and provide production input and advice during development for both agency and clients. Additionally, this person should be willing/able to step in to support account service personnel, correct problems, and resolve issues with web/digital related projects as needed.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Builds, designs (with the help of Creative), and maintains all websites and software applications
- Understands UI, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards
- Creates solutions for identified problems or bugs
- Communicates with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders daily
- Executes assignments with the use of web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs
- Develops and validates test routines to ensure the quality of the external and internal interface
- Designs assignments with web services like REST, SOAP, etc
- Evaluates written code to ensure it meets industry standards and is compatible with all devices
- Maintains a professional understanding of web development by tracking trends and participating in study groups if appropriate
- Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests
- Coordinates production of interactive projects with outside vendors as appropriate (if it cannot be done in-house)
- Works in tandem with the Account Team to identify web/digital solutions for client needs, to coordinate production of fully integrated interactive/traditional marketing campaigns
- Attends client presentations and meetings as requested by Account Team or clients
- Consults with Account and Creative Team in creation of client websites to provide guidance in design and content development and to advise on platform capabilities and limitations
- Reviews digital production schedules, estimates, Clients Contact Reports, costs and billings to ensure schedules and budgets are met, and cost controls adhered to; intercedes where billing issues arise with specific clients
- Seeks out new business opportunities with new and existing clients and plays a supportive role in their development
- Implement tracking via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager and tracks, optimize and report on data
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to write and edit technical documentation
- A solid understanding of internet technologies and protocols is required
- Knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics
- Knowledge of Google Suite tools (GTM, GA)
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a UX / UI
- Minimum of three years of experience developing online and interactive projects including corporate websites, B2B and e-commerce sites, landing pages, web banners and other digital products for all devices (desktop, tablets and smartphones).
- Extensive experience managing site content and assets on CMS platforms. Ensure an understanding of the different web platforms such as WordPress, Squarespace, Drupal, etc
- Intermediate knowledge of coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc
Compensation:
$80,000 – $90,000 annual salary based on experience. Benefits include 20 days PTO, forever Fridays, bonus incentive program, annual wellness stipend, 401K/Roth match, health insurance benefits, paid holidays + office closure from Dec 24 – Jan 1, remote with in-person office option and more.
