The media planner enables their clients to maximize the impact of their advertising campaigns through the use of a range of media tactics. In order to ensure that campaigns reach their target audiences as effectively as possible, media planners combine creative thinking with factual analysis to develop appropriate strategies. They apply knowledge of media and communication platforms to identify the most appropriate vehicle for reaching client’s communication objectives.

Reports to the Associate Media Director

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on the industry, partners and target audiences
  • Analyze user characteristics, behavior and media consumption habits in order to better understand target audiences
  • Work with Media Directors to formulate media strategies, and develop options for media plans based on client objectives and goals
  • Coordinate proposals through RFP process with digital and traditional partners
  • Interacting with internal and external partners to evaluate, implement, and execute media plans
  • Coordinate Internal Media Reviews (IMRs) with Account Service Team
  • Analyze and present client’s post-campaign results and campaign recommendations
  • Coordinate asset development and ad trafficking with internal teams
  • Recommend maximum number of creative elements and/or adjustment for optimal campaign performance
  • Coordinate digital tracking between internal team, vendors and client
  • Monitor campaign performance
  • Review and analyze campaign reports to define takeaways
  • Manage client invoicing of media services and advertising space
  • Manage and train Media Coordinator when applicable
  • Manage resolution of campaign discrepancies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
  • Manage client relationships with a focus on gaining trust and respect
  • Responsible for meeting all internal and external deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Communicate in a timely fashion
  • Make and maintain good relationships with media partners

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a media planner or similar role
  • Knowledge of media channels
  • Familiarity with campaign evaluation, reporting and media buying
  • Detailed oriented, great communication and teamwork skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Campaign Manager, GTM, GA a plus
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical mind and organizational skills
